Lifeline Winter Pawty Volunteer Overview
Thank you so much for being here and supporting Lifeline of Galveston County. The Winter Pawty directly fuels our lifesaving work for pets and families in Galveston County.
Who We Are
Lifeline of Galveston County is a grassroots, no-kill nonprofit that opened our pet adoption center doors in 2023. Since then, we have saved over 1,800 dogs and cats, including pets with medical and behavioral needs, neonatal kittens, and those at risk in local municipal shelters.
We are often the last hope for pets who have nowhere else to go, and for community members who rely on us when they find strays, cannot access affordable vet care, or need short-term support to keep their pets.
How We’re Funded
We receive no government funding.
Every dollar that keeps our doors open comes from:
-
Donations
-
Grants
-
Community events like this one
It costs approximately $35,000 every single month to run the adoption center and sustain our programs. This includes medical care and vaccines to foster support, pet food assistance, and lifesaving transports.
Why the Winter Pawty Matters
The Winter Pawty will be one of our most important fundraisers of the year. Our goal is to raise $20,000 during the event to help us:
-
Continue pulling at-risk pets from local shelters
-
Provide lifesaving medical care
-
Support our foster families and community members
-
Keep our adoption center operating at full strength
-
Expand programs like our neonatal kitten safety net
