Are you 15 or older and passionate about animals?
Join Lifeline of Galveston County for our Stipend Animal Care & Adoption Internship, a 3-month, hands-on internship at our nonprofit Pet Adoption Center in Webster, TX.
This program is designed for individuals interested in animal welfare, veterinary medicine, rescue work, or nonprofit operations who want real-world experience while supporting animals and adopters during our busiest hours.
What You'll Experience:
Interns will gain hands-on exposure to the day-to-day operations of a high-volume animal rescue, including:

Adoption support and visitor assistance

Animal care and cleaning protocols

Dog walking and behavior observation
-
Cat care and enrichment
-
Supporting intake and sick appointments
-
Assisting during peak adoption hours
-
Behind-the-scenes nonprofit operations

Interns are fully integrated into daily operations and work closely with staff to support both animals and the public.
Program Details

Program dates: August through October 2026

Stipend: $300 per month
​
Schedule:
2 shifts per week
Shifts are typically within the following time frames:

3:00 PM–7:00 PM, Wednesday–Sunday
-
10:00am-2:00pm, Saturdays or Sundays
-
7am-11am, Monday or Thursday (depending on availability)
Shifts typically do not rotate. You will be assigned two shifts per week.
These hours align with our busiest adoption and intake times, offering valuable public-facing and operational experience.
