Off-Site Adoption Events
Looking for your next dog? Come meet adoptable dogs from Lifeline of Galveston County and our amazing municipal shelter partners at our off-site adoption events.
These events are a fun, easy way to meet dogs outside of the shelter environment and learn more about their personalities. Most of our off-site events feature dogs, and we try to bring a variety of ages, sizes, and energy levels whenever possible. Whether you are ready to adopt, interested in fostering, or just want to support the dogs, we’d love to see you there.
Volunteer at an Event
Want to help dogs get seen and get adopted? Volunteers are a huge part of making these events successful.
Volunteers may help with:

handling dogs

greeting potential adopters

talking to the public about Lifeline

helping dogs stay comfortable and engaged during the event
No special experience is required, and groups are welcome. Off-site events can be a great volunteer opportunity for friends, families, student groups, or community teams who want to help make a difference. Please RSVP for an event by clicking on the button below.
Interested in Fostering?
During the last 30 minutes of each event, approved fosters or people interested in fostering are welcome to come meet the dogs who were not adopted and consider taking one home for the week.
This gives fosters a chance to:

meet dogs in person

learn more about their needs and personality

help a dog get out of the shelter environment

give us valuable feedback that can help with adoption placement
Fostering even for a short time can make a huge difference. It helps dogs decompress, gives them a break from the shelter, and often helps us learn more about what kind of home is the best fit.
If you are interested in fostering, please come during the final 30 minutes of the event or reach out to our team ahead of time with any questions.
