We currently have more than 150 kittens in our program, and they’re quickly reaching adoption age! Sponsor a kitten today and help us get them adoption-ready and home during Clear the Shelters.

Why It Matters

  • Kitten season stretches our resources. Every summer, Lifeline sees an influx of adoptable kittens who need vaccines, spay/neuter surgery, microchips, and daily care before they can go home.

  • Your sponsorship helps us get more kittens adoption-ready. The more kittens we can vet before Clear the Shelters, the more kittens we can place into homes at a discounted fee during this major adoption event.

  • Reduced adoption fees help more kittens find homes. Sponsorships allow us to offer half-priced adoption fees without sacrificing the veterinary care every kitten receives.

  • Adoption fees only cover a fraction of our costs. Lifeline spends an average of approximately $450 per animal in our care, so sponsorships help bridge the gap between adoption fees and the true cost of lifesaving.

  • Every adoption creates space to help another animal. When a kitten goes home, we gain the foster space, funding, and resources needed to say yes to the next animal who needs us.

  • Your support becomes part of their adoption story. Every sponsor can leave a personal message that will be shared with the kitten’s future adopter.

Impact Story: Little Man

Little Man Survived!

When a local resident found a litter of injured neonatal kittens in her garden, she was referred to Lifeline for help.

The kittens were in some of the worst condition we've ever seen. It appeared they had been attacked by a wild animal. As soon as they arrived at Lifeline, they were rushed to a nearby full-service veterinary hospital.

Despite everyone's best efforts, two of the three kittens had injuries so severe that one passed on the way to the vet and the kindest decision for another was humane euthanasia.

The third kitten, now known as Little Man, had a chance.

Veterinarians cleaned and treated a small but serious wound filled with maggots, and Lifeline's team immediately got to work. Over the next month, Little Man relied on our incredible foster network, moving between three dedicated foster homes as his needs changed. He was bottle-fed around the clock, received daily wound care, and slowly grew stronger until he was finally eating on his own.

Once he was healthy enough, Little Man graduated to another foster home, where he was introduced to another orphaned kitten his age named Cookie. The two quickly became inseparable.

Today, Little Man is nearly two months old and will soon be available for adoption alongside his foster sister.

Little Man's journey has already cost well over $1,000 in veterinary care, medical supplies, formula, medications, and foster support.

His story isn't unusual.

On average, Lifeline spends about $450 to prepare every pet for adoption. That includes vaccinations, deworming, spay/neuter surgery, and any medical care needed to give them a healthy start.

By sponsoring a kitten for $65, you're helping us offset those costs so we can offer reduced adoption fees during Clear the Shelters. Lower adoption fees mean more families can say "yes," more kittens can find homes quickly, and more vulnerable kittens like Little Man can receive the lifesaving care they deserve.

How the sponsorship works

  • Choose how many kittens to sponsor. Sponsor one kitten or up to 10 at a time!

  • Choose your sponsorship type. Give $65 to sponsor a kitten for our Clear the Shelters event, or $75 to select a specific kitten to sponsor immediately.

  • Leave a personal message. Your message will go home with the kitten’s future adopter, letting them know someone was cheering for their new family member.

  • We put your sponsorship to work. Your support helps us spay/neuter, vaccinate, and microchip kittens and offer reduced adoption fees to help them find homes.

  • Want to sponsor more than 10 kittens? We would love to talk with you about making an even bigger impact! Email cmckenna@lifelinetx.org
