Jim's 50th Birthday Fundraiser

This year, Jim is celebrating his 50th birthday by giving back to the animals of Lifeline of Galveston County, a 501(c)3 non-profit animal welfare organization. Jim is not only a vital board member of Lifeline of Galveston County, but also one of our most dedicated supporters and champions. Instead of gifts, he’s asking friends and family to help him save lives by donating to Lifeline in honor of his milestone birthday.
At Lifeline of Galveston County, we believe that no healthy or treatable pet should lose their life simply because they don’t have a safe place to go. Founded in 2020 as a grassroots nonprofit, we’ve grown from a dream and a few traps into a lifesaving safety net for the animals most at risk of being overlooked in municipal shelters. We've pulled over 400 pets from local shelters this year and kept over 200 more out through our Good Samaritan Foster program and Traps to Laps partnership program.
Why it matters:
-
Thousands of dogs and cats lose their lives annually in local shelters.
-
These weren’t “unadoptable” pets. They were simply out of time, overlooked, or lacking resources.
-
We prioritize the most vulnerable: community cats, neonatal kittens, large dogs, nursing moms with puppies, dogs with minor behavioral issues and blocky-headed dogs who are often the first to be euthanized.
Through innovative programs and our adoption center in Webster, we are now placing 50–80 pets into homes each month and caring for 75–200 at any given time both on-site and in our dozens of foster homes. We also support our neighbors through a pet food bank and free vaccines for owned pets.
Jim has been instrumental in making this growth possible, and now you can honor him by fueling the work he loves. Together, we can create a Galveston County where every companion animal has a chance to thrive.
