Age Restrictions
If a volunteer is between the ages of 12-17:
16 to 17 Year Old
Step 1- Youth submits an online volunteer application. Step 2- Parent/Guardian MUST sign the waiver when completing an application. (If minor signs the waiver at time of application, application will be denied.) Step 3- Youth must complete volunteer info session or at least one volunteer opportunity with an adult. Step 4- Youth may volunteer without a parent/legal guardian after attending info session with an adult or after volunteering at least one time with an adult. 14 and 15 year olds can sometimes be approved to volunteer by themselves after completing volunteer opportunities with an adult. This must be approved by Lifeline staff. |
12 to 15 Years Old
Step 1- Youth and parent/legal guardian must each submit an online volunteer application. Step 2- Parent/Guardian MUST sign the youth's waiver when completing an application. (If minor signs the waiver at time of application, application will be denied.) Step 3- Youth and parent/legal guardian must each complete volunteer info session or volunteer at an event together. Step 4- Youth will need to volunteer with said parent/legal guardian at all times. |
Under 12 Years Old
While Lifeline of Galveston County recognizes that many bright minds in this age group want to help animals, for safety reasons we do not allow anyone under the age of 12 to volunteer. Individuals under 12 years of age can still help Lifeline of Galveston County and our mission.
Here are a few activities we recommend:
- Plan a donation drive
- Have a lemonade stand
- Make toys for pets at our adoption center
- Consider fostering a pet in need as a family!
Come by the center during adoption hours and pet the kitties and pups as long as parents are there!
