Are you Caring for a Community Cat that had Kittens? The kittens must be 6-8 weeks old before we can help at all (unless the momma cat has died or disappeared for more that 3 days).
Kittens under 4 months can often be adopted out. Lifeline of Galveston County does have a foster/adoption program for kittens over 8 weeks old and under 4 months old. If the kitten(s) are less than 6-8 weeks old, the best shot for their survival is to keep them with their mom…. even if she is living outdoors and is feral. Learn more here: “I Found a Baby Kitten, Now What? Step by Step Guide”. If the kittens are 6-8 WEEKS, you can apply for admittance into our foster/adoption program. We can't promise admittance, and you must be willing to hold onto the kittens until they are adopted, however kittens can sometimes stay at our adoption center after they receive two vaccines (2 weeks apart). We administer these vaccines. Apply for Admittance into our Kitten Adoption Program Here. Process: 1. Complete Application Here. 2. Lifeline team will pre-screen your application. If everything looks good, we will email you a link to schedule an intake exam at our center in Webster, Texas. 3. At the time of the intake exam, we will determine if the kittens are friendly enough to be admitted. If they are, they will receive their first round of vaccinations. 4. Over the next couple weeks, kittens will receive spay/neuter, microchip and booster vaccines. Once they are double vaccinated, they will be eligible to be housed and shown at our adoption center as space allows. |
