Si necesita atrapar a un gato para una cita (no puede recogerlo y colocarlo en la trampa usted mismo), le recomendamos comenzar al menos dos días antes de la cita programada. Para obtener mejores resultados, no le dé de comer al gato el día que intente atraparlo y utilice alimentos con olor fuerte, como comida enlatada para gatos con sabor a pescado, caballa o atún, en la trampa.

Los gatos pueden pasar la noche anterior a la cirugía en la jaula trampa. Asegúrese de que la jaula esté en un lugar con temperatura controlada y protegido de la intemperie. Cubra la jaula con una toalla o sábana para mantener al gato tranquilo.

Tras la cirugía, los gatos deben pasar de una a dos noches en la jaula trampa mientras se recuperan. Durante este tiempo, coloque con cuidado comida y agua en la jaula junto al gato. Si dispone de un espacio seguro donde mantener a los gatos confinados (como una habitación libre, un garaje o una caseta grande para perros), puede dejarlos recuperarse allí.

No recomendamos mantener a un gato en una trampa para su recuperación durante más de dos días, a menos que exista un problema grave. Estará menos estresado y se recuperará más fácilmente fuera de la trampa.

Puntas de oreja

En todas las clínicas se realiza la técnica de "corte de orejas" a los gatos callejeros durante la esterilización. Este procedimiento consiste en extirpar quirúrgicamente una pequeña porción de una de las orejas del gato mientras está bajo anestesia. Es la forma universalmente aceptada de indicar que un gato comunitario ha sido esterilizado, lo que significa que no nacerán más gatitos. Trampas humanitarias para gatos salvajes

Todas las clínicas veterinarias exigen que los gatos callejeros sean llevados a la clínica en una trampa humanitaria para gatos callejeros , incluso si el gato es relativamente dócil en la calle. Puedes comprar tu propia trampa en tiendas como Tractor Supply , Walmart , Home Depot , tu tienda de alimentos para animales local, tienda de control de plagas, etc. Incluso podrías encontrar trampas usadas en buen estado en plataformas como Facebook Marketplace, eBay y Craigslist. La trampa debe tener al menos 81 cm de largo.
